How to create a new iCloud ID in iOS 5?

iCloud is considered to be the best cloud service before it can be released to the public. And we accept it after having used for about a week now. Some of the posts that is related to iOS 5 were:

This tutorial will help you create an iCloud account on your iOS 5 device.

Tap the Settings icon from your springboard. And navigate to Mail, Contacts, Calendars
Select Add Account…
Select iCloud
Tap Get a free Apple ID
Enter the details
By default, it would select the Use my current email address ?
You need to select Get a free iCloud email address, so that the ? mark comes appears next to it. This will allow you to enter the details with <username>@me.com
After entering the name, and other details in the boxes, tap Next
Accept the Agreement, tap Agree
Viola, You just created a iCloud account. And you are good to go ahead and use it! Enjoy iOS 5!

I treed the above but when I reached step I.e. Tap on cloud icon there is no such option. I tapped "other" ton no avail. Help. Thanks

I have tried to set up an iCloud account but it says the email is already in use. I have 2 iPhones and 2 iPod touch I want to set up. All of the have the same apple ID but seperate email for iMessage and FaceTime which works fine. I want to use the same emails as FaceTime but it says already in use, do I need another email address?

I have a question. I have an AppleID and it is myname@gmail.com. Will this AppleID be converted to iCloudID? If yes, may I sync mail, contacts, reminders with this gmail-based AppleID? I want to use my gmail-based Apple ID to sync everything, but I don't want to use a new @me.com address. Thanks.

with this new me.com address that I can create, can it replace my Apple ID? Meaning I’d like to use this me.com address with everything including iTunes store, email, and everything my Windows Live account does.

Yes! You can. But you need to map your CC again to it. I do not recommend this method! :) Also, if you try to login with @me.com Apple ID, it will automatically login with your Windows Live ID, if the @me.com ID is associated with it.

oh my god. i have been looking for this answer since wwdc 2011. so let me get this straight .i can continue to use my itunes apple id that i use for purchases of apps and music and get a seperate free me.com email/apple id to use for syncing contacts calanders ,everything in step 10

in other words i want to share all my apps (purchased once) to multiple idevices in my house but at the same time i want to seperate 3 users (everthing in step 10).

You are welcome! Don't hesitate to subscribe to our RSS feed. And now, coming back to your question.
ID when you enter the Apple ID. It will just subscribe your Apple ID to iCloud.
2. You will not loose your purchases if you get a new ID. iCloud IDs are just for syncing your contacts and other content to the iCloud and nothing more than that. It will connect your Apple ID to itself when configuring the phone initially.
